After reading about all the oil consumption issues lately I've been wondering, what rpm do all of you manual trans owners shift at normally? Living in Los Angeles area stop and go lifestyle, I tend to shift 2500-3000rpm. Lately I've been taking it up to about 3000-3500 in the lower gears and it seems to run better. I don't like lugging my engine. What do you all recommend? Do any of you notice higher oil consumption when revving more/driving harder?

 

I shift around 3000-3500 in town and when getting on the highway around 4000-4500.

this will have nothing to do with the oil consumption issue with this engine. its a well known issue and common problem with the 2az-fe engine platform.
