ToyoDIY.com forced to pull parts diagrams :(
I just went to ToyoDIY.com to find the part number of the 2008 Evaporation Tank, but found they no longer have the diagrams posted. After looking around I finally noticed this message:
Just thought you guys should know about this!

The diagrams are no longer available on this site. For reasons that are beyond our comprehension, Toyota Motor Sales Inc. kept harrassing our ISP about them. It seems that they are really interested in quick profits from new car sales, so it is in their best interest that old cars fall apart asap.
The progress of course cannot be stopped, and the diagrams are available on numerous other websites around the world, so we feel this change will not have any significant negative impact on Toyota DIY-ers.
Contact us if you need help or have any other question about this change. Extra info for registered forum members.
At ToyoDIY, we strongly believe in our right to repair our own vehicles. You can help by raising awareness of the issue. Details can be found at www.righttorepair.org.

I agree!
Here's that last quoted sentence again:
If you click on the provided link, it takes you to a website that is organized against taking repairs out of the hands of the do-it-yourselfer and mechanics and repair shops of our choice.
There's an interesting video and the opportunity to partipate in a petition to forward legislation in the House and Senate to protect our rights as auto owners. After all, the car is yours, and so it should be your choice who does repairs -- the dealer should not be the only resort.
Looks to me like a good opportunity to make oneself heard on the issue.

It likely has to do with the rights of the catalogs and not toyota stopping DIY'ers. I'm guessing that ToyoDIY didn't get the right's to post Toyota's EPC pages on the web as they are proprietary.
The problem I had with people that use that site is they call me, give me part numbers and then it's my fault when they get the wrong parts and I have to hold on to the extra parts in my inventory that I don't want. It's my job to look up the CORRECT parts and get them for my customers.
The other problem, and please dont' take offense OP or anyone else, is the terminology being used. The part you are looking for is not called an "evaporation tank". It is called a "charcoal canister" or sometimes refered to as an "evaporative emissions canister" but not an "evaporation tank." The part number you're likely looking for is 77740-12720 and retails for $698.74
