Who doesn't hate the new xB?
i love the new "xB" if i didnt love my box so much i'd run out and get one, the day they are available. My only gripe is the name, xB should be retired just the xA has been. Just my .02
Okay, yeah, like the car. Ain't tradin' mine in on one, but I'm going to sell a ton of 'em.
FUEL ECONOMY: 2007 Camry with 2.4L 158 hp engine weighing 3,307 lbs is rated at 33 mpg highway. There is NO WAY this new xB will weigh even close to that.
My prediction, 35mpg highway on the xB2.

My guess... 23/30 with the automatic and 22/29 for the manual. Look at the tC. the tC has the same engine as the Camry, weighs 400 pounds less and doesn't have as good of mileage. That's due to gearing and I'll be the new xB is more like the tC than the Camry.
I too like the new xb, the more I see it the more it grows. i am so happy bout the 2.4, there is so much u can add and the power is way better than 1st gen. I hope there will be a power moonroof, much needed. Interior, to me is wonderful, kinda wish the seats from 1st gen, were put in them. the seats look kinda wimp, overall I can dig it.

its okay, i mean i dont hate it, and i dont love it, i dont think they should have called it a xb, should have been a different modeled car name, cause when you think of xb you think of a box not a box with fender flares, and a rounded front.
I like the new xb a lot. I am most likely going to get one and then i will have both first and second gen both in BSP. I will let my girl drive the first gen since i wanna keep low miles on it and she only drives 3 miles a day and i drive like 60.

I LOVE THE Next Generation Scions! So Much If you were at the unvailing the night before, I was the one wooohooIng about the bags, and when the hypnotic teal mica was the color there, I almost fainted! I am most defenatly getting one!
Its good to see the positive here, and i can only hope it contiues.
Fuel ecomony ... whos to say. At this point its all speculation, much like the price and what options will be allowed. IMO i dont think Scion woud produce a gas guzzler with fuel in the states hitting as high as $3.50 a gallon. Trying to make a car for the common man, woman or college kid wouldnt make sense if it got 20 MPG.
Keeping them on the showroom floor may be a bit more difficult. Once buyers actually see the car and sit in it, it will be hard to get them out of it.

...but I would like Toyota to offer two improvements:
1) Offer white on black gauges as an option. The current red on black gauges could be unreadable in daylight if you're wearing sunglasses.
2) Offer as an extra-cost option a 5AT automatic or modified i-CVT automatic. Either would definitely help improve acceleration and freeway fuel efficiency.
