Default Tire size question

I would like to purchase 18x7.5 offset 42 rims, what is the widest tire I can go with without any modifications? Also what is the bolt pattern? Thanks.

Bolt pattern is 5x114.5 (aka 5x4.5). My guess is that 225 will be the widest, but I'm not sure about that...

Don't forget to use the search method--it can be your best friend and has saved me a lot of time not having to wait for an answer!

yea, I have found the bolt pattern many times over but still wondering about the widest size. Has anybody used a 235? Thanks.

I've seen 235s on the stock TRD 19s, but not sure what the offset was...

I can't believe I'm posting this again; but I'm here to help:

I think the tire and wheel calculator we all use will help you understand how the changes from stock may or may not work, and what the resultant changes will be:

http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp?postId=906

Keep in mind that the stock tires are 205/55x16" with +45 offset.

Stock weight is approximately 22# for tire and 22# for steelie = about 44# total at each corner.

Have fun playing with the calculator/comparer!

FYI: 235/40-18 will give you about the same overall outside tire width and diameter as the TRD 19" wheels and tires.

BTW, do you plan on dropping it? How low you want to go can affect what tires can be accommodated, regardless of what is the biggest that will fit on any given rim width.

Yes I am aware of the calculator and it is helpful on paper but before I make the purchase it's a good idea to get feedback from someone who has the same set up. Thank you!

Considering your using a 7.5" width wheel the 225 mm section width tire would be a perfect choice.
