To my knowledge, Tein is still all talk and no walk. If you go with DF's, you'll definitely have to drop down to 225/40-18's to not rub. From another thread:

17's normally take a 45 profile - 225/45-17 or 235/45-17
18's normally take a 40 profile - 225/40-18 or 235/40-18
These respective profiles are what keep the overall tire diameter about the same (225's), or just slightly larger (235's), than stock.

The rubbing issue with the DF's is due to the wider width of the 235 tires as compared to the 225 tires, combined with the +38 offset.
