i hope you live in a VERY dry area with your filter exposed like that. I did some testing a while back and discovered rain water does come in when you cut holes in lwr trim panels. Badges look cool. Also, is that flex duct running from the filter to the MAS? Wouldn't that disrupt the air flow by causing turbulence? Just a thought...

When it rains in houston it usually pours, sometimes it rains for part of the day, sometimes it rains for days. I've had the filter down there for some time. Already checked it after driving it in the rain, no problems, there's a fine piece of mesh covering the hole thats been cut into the panel. It doesn't let any water through. I'd have to drive through standing water deep enough to touch the intake to get any water in it.

The flex tube is what I'd call the in between piece. The MAS is still hooked up to the stock piece that comes with the Scion, because I've attempted and failed multiple times to take the sensor off the stock housing, so the stock housing for the MAS is part of my CAI. The flex tube connects to the silver piece coming off the engine and connects to another silver piece that connects to the MAS housing.

Don't think the flex tube causes any turbulence.. Only thing I have noticed since switching from the stock intake to my custom one was it breathes easier up top. Especially when the houston wintry temps kick in and its 40 or 50 degress here
