exactly. I used two radio backstraps wrapped with black tape. not that show off the engine for any reason. but I feel better about a better mount that won;t break off cuz it's cold

Anyone have the part number for the filter? Everyone is saying they spent 20 bucks but the one I'm seeing is $40.

Well, I bought the parts and I had somebody install it for me, I have the list, so you can buy the parts:

QTY 1 8751 – coupler/reducer 2.5” – 3”
QTY 1 8771 – coupler /reducer 3” – 3”
QTY 1 9449 – 3” aluminum mandrel 90° elbow
QTY 1 889610 – 3” hpR air filter
QTY 1 9713 – vacuum/sensor fittings with grommets (use 17mm)

Or, you can use QTY 1 8132 Cone air filter.

Is there any difference between the larger and smaller cones as posted by xD_kidd91 and the OP?

I think I recall someone saying it gives better MPG's due to the lack of air restriction from the stock filter, can anyone say they saw first hand improvement?

Yes mine improved +1 to 2 mpg however at first when you install it you like to hear it working so you're always getting on the gas just to hear it

Hahaha, I like this. Now I have a good excuse to put it on my car and not only for the slight HP gain or nice sounds

Wow, I can't believe I created this thread so long ago..

Just a little personal comparison between the autozone intake setup in this thread and an Injen cold air intake.

I'm currently running an Injen CAI and I can defiantly feel the difference compared to this old set up. Both made the cars more responsive but not a real difference in response between the two that is noticeable. The Injen CAI feels like it has more torque and pulls a bit harder though, which should be expected over slapping on a filter from autozone. They both have a nice little whistle when the throttle is initially opened but once more gas is given that whistle goes away. The autozone setup was surprisingly louder but not the same noise as the Injen. The Injen defiantly has a deeper grumble to it that I personally prefer over the loudness of the autozone setup.

Like taking your girl to a nice restaurant, whereas the injen people would have to take her to...burger king...lol
