My Turbo Journey Has ENDED...Car Returned by TURBOTOYOTAS:(
So if there is a finished manifold, why not look for a return on the investment and sell it? Understand you are giving it away, but I am also assuming you have the blue print for it and can sell a model

LOL. You're behind schedule on alot. Like getting people on the forum their kits. I think it's time you took up something a little slower-paced and not as important, like hosting Bingo tournaments in Sun City. Or perhaps subbing Golf cart parts out for powdercoating?

I have a few comments...some to defend myself (no real point too) and at the end a little lesson for everyone.
few things:
1. there was an original deal worked out. Tim was responsible for the parts I do not make ( at my cost) and I was supplying the rest as a way to help him out and at the same time bring a xD kit to market.
2. The parts he paid for are the parts he got in return. Plus he will be fully refunded for the price of tuning, wiring, and some misc items we have agreed on.
3. The project stopped ie he got his car back because of a lack of resources necessary if a tuning issue arrived.
Tim basically paid $300 in tuning fees.....that covers basically hooking car up to dyno and 2/3 hours of tuning.
after a recent issue with another car (11+ hours on the dyno) and his being the first with FIC, we wanted everyone to be ready for an issue, and be preparred for it if it came up.
What would happen if it takes longer ? the resources were not there.
so what happens if we tried and there was a problem? turbod xD with a unfinished tune? might not have even been driveable.
Am I responsible? no
is the tuner responsible? no
It was not worth the risk, for myself, nor the tuner to try the "what if" scenario knowing the customer could not cover the cost of the additional tuning fees.
It would have been worse than this.
So in the end....
we all lost....
But as its not my responsiblity to cover tuning fees or issues (unless its kit related) and this is why we stopped.....why would I supply the entire kit?
I have allot more money invested into the design/fabrication work than he does in the components.
Do I not get to keep part of my investment? I dont see how that does not make sense.
Its funny how everyone always thinks they are entitled.
Some advice:
1. If you cant afford a kit...regardless of situation dont by it
2. If you cant afford the correct fuel management and the money to tune your car (no basemaps) do not buy a turbo kit
3. If you have no idea about turbos but just like the idea of one or just want one "because" dont buy one until you can take the time educating yourself. Call manufacturers ask questions....do not rely on your friends who think they know better.
4. If you ever work out a deal with a manufacturer, prototype kit, custom etc, please respect there work and there desire to keep the work under wraps until its done.
There nothing worse than being critisized for work by those who have no idea what it takes to build and design a kit..... funny how everyone has a friend who knows better.
5. Tuning......if a tuner charges you a flat rate...always keep in mind that rate is for x amount of hours. If the tuner takes more time than that be prepared to spend more money.
6. If you make an appointment for tuners/ install shop. Things can get pushed back, as in the tuner market things always come up and that changes peoples schedules/plans.
In the best interests of you all.

Funny how Todd feels I was boosting on a "budget" if that was his point in his response...I certainly can afford a kit but when I'm told a certain thing thats what I expect...I could say the same and say, "If you can't refund someone's money right away then you shouldn't take it in the first place." I was told a certain price and paid that in cash without hesitation...Factor in the rental car as an unforseen expense...Todd made an agreement with me and knew what I was spending...He had no problem taking my money to further his business...See look at this way...I gave him a $20K car for R&D on his turbo product...In return, I was to get a turbo built and installed...It's actually quite simple...He builds a turbo, I pay what i'm told to pay...When its all said and done, Todd sells the kit to the public and makes his money back ten fold and I'm a happy customer, in theory...Unfortunately this did not happen...
As far as affording fuel management, I paid $375 (not $300) for tuning and $140 for the FIC wiring...Todd even told me himself, if it would not have been for the xA dilema at the tuners there would be no problem......But why should I suffer the consequences? The xA issue did not happen until late June early July...If my car had gone to the tuners back in May, even June like I was told over and over we would not even be in this situation...I would be happily boosting in TT xD...
I wish Todd continued success and hope he's able to recover from what is going on lately...His heart is in the right place, trust me...

Things happen
We have the whole story
Its not really necessary for anyone to really add to the drama. I'm going to lock this thread. The xD owners can be more mature than the tC owners (joke)
Lets move on to the next company...
