all you need is a tune ?

 

you paid all this money and cant complete the project because you dont want to front the money for a tune?!?! i know todd did not keep promises and such but to me, it sounds like were not hearing the whole story. i wouldnt spend all that money just to kill the project because i cant come up with $400 for a tune?

I have a buddy who works at a Toyota dealer, wont mention any specifics, who told me I should talk to Todd cause they were friends and his tc was one of the first to be sponsored/boosted by TT.

As soon as he said I should talk to Todd, I wish I had a literal red flag to throw in the air and a bullhorn to say FAIL.

 

Yes, if I was to continue waiting...But i'm done...Like I said, i'm not gonna get personal against Todd...There is more to this story and lots of let downs along the way...I'm not gonna be THAT GUY that waits and waits and waits after being told one thing but that one thing never happens...

The last straw was the most recent event...First off, after Todd brought my car back to me for the two week peroid where I had it so my other sponsors could do their thing to it he turns around and gets rid of his Nissan that he was letting me use during this project...Me using his Versa and him using my xD as a prototype was part of the original deal...Todd tells me that he made an appt at UMS for my car to go their so they could install the FIC in stock form on Wed, July 8th...We make arrangements and Todd gets my car back on July 6th...

Prior to this, Todd and I have what I feel is a pretty good phone conversation...Phone conversations rarely exist with Todd and mostly evertything happens over text...I hate this but what can you do...Todd tells me that he is no longer concerned about making jigs for the kits and his number one concern is finishing my kit...Yippee I think to myself...He tells me that UMS will install the FIC on Wednesday July 8th and he will completely install my turbo and have my car brought to the SI2 show that our club was hosting, untuned...We would then bring it back the following week and have it tuned...This sounds ok to me and we hang up...

Rewind back to July 6th...I get a rental car and rent it for 2-weeks because Todd assures me that it would be done way before that...Rental car bill alone was close to $500...Anyways, Wednesday comes and Todd tells me that it hasn't gone to UMS and eventually it never did...Thursday comes and again my car sits at Todds and doesn't go to UMS...I'm still driving the rental. which I have been since Monday...Anyways Todd knows the importance of getting the car into UMS because Friday is fast approaching and he has alot of work to do...In the mean time, I'm told that he would send me pics at a certain time, they never came...Get a text Thursday evening saying that my car would go to UMS on Friday but that they wouldn't touch it until the following Thursday...He also told me that the tuner was also out of town that Friday and following Monday...Guess what? My rental was due back that Monday...Two weeks of driving a rental and my car sat doing nothing? I don't think so...I call Todd and he actually answered the phone...This is when tells me the story behind the trouble with the tuning of another Scion at this shop that took 11 hours to tune and it's still not right and if they run into problems with mine then I would have to pay an additional $110 per hour...This was not part of the original plan...Todd told me that he would have normally been able to do it, but since the last car caused such a problem, he wasn't finacially able to do it...Well guess what, I'm not finacially able to fork over any more money either...I paid cash up front...Add another $500 for a rental, and probably more since by the looks of it UMS wouldn't even begin to tune it after turbo install untill way after the original rental was turned in...

When Todd returned my car to me this Saturday with my turbo parts, he kept the manifold...

Anyways, like I said the stuff looks AWESOME! Wish we could have finished what we started and I'm sure Todd feels the same...

Listen , read the threads...I already pre-paid cash for the tune, the wiring of the FIC and everything else if you can't f'n read...And furthermore, you have no idea what transpired during the 3 months...I could cut and paste my texts if you would like...Nah, I won't stoop to that...

 

Hey Yelosub I am sorry you did not get things worked out. I know how excited you were about getting this done, but like I said when you first told me about it, you may have more problems then it is worth, it is probably better this way. I have been watching this thread since day one and saw nothing but problems from the start. Take your car and make it unique without the turbo. You did it before with the xB so you can do it again with this platform.

Didn't you pay for that too? It is going to be VERY difficult to pass this off to another xD owner without that part

 

Not sure why he did not...I asked for it because it was on my invoice copy...He said because it was a part that he was providing that it belonged to him...

I'm not selling this as an xD kit...Todd just gave me the piping...I took pics to show everyone what it looked like...

Turbos, BOV's, and intercoolers are universal...Those will sell...If someone wants to this as kit, and take it someone who is a good fabricator and match it up then that's another story...

how much did you pay for all of those parts? they all look pretty generic, even with pretty orange powdercoating.

i wouldnt be anywhere near as close to calm as you are, thats some will power if ive ever seen it.

 

WOW! and it looks so damn sexy too, i cant believe it couldnt be done, same thing with every tc out there thats bougth from him and received SQUAT, that really sux to hear bro, and u should get that manifold or get one custom made u can definatly try and finish this off, completely unfair to u bro

I got some of the items listed above but not the most important piece...I asked him for it but he said it does not belong to me...He is giving to one of his people who son is going to be using it on their xD...If that wasn't going to happen he said he was sending it to the recycler...

And for the record, Saturday was the first time I had seen this stuff...I have yet to see the mani and down pipe...

Nope, i told him to keep the filter and give me the cash back...The same goes for the tC injectors and couplers/hoses...Supposedly my FIC is at the tuners and he still has to bring that to me...Now I have worthless gauges in my car that I have to remove and sell...They look pretty though...

 

you should demand the manifold and downpipe, and finish the kit yourself.
