Default 2013 Scion xD 10 Series El panel and Shifter illumination help

Hello, purchased 2013 Scion xD series 10 from CarMax last night replacing my 15 year old Scion xA that I got in 04 04 due it being totaled. The only thing that seems to be wrong with it is the light up El panel doesn't light up
when I open the door or turn on the switch underneath the steering wheel. Also the gear shifter doesn't illuminate at all, does anyone know what the problem maybe?

Thank you in advanced.

Gear shifter might need a new bulb. I haven't owned an ATX in over a decade so I'm not sure if it's an LED panel there or a bulb, Pop the console out and check.

For the door sills, the previous owner could have just bought them and never hooked them up, Pop off the interior door sill plastics and see if the wiring is hooked up to anything. I'd start there before you go searching for which wires to connect to.
If they're not connected I would think you'd just need to find the door switch and connect them to that. Should be able to find instructions online if they're OEM. Check Sparkparts.com, they have a lot of PDF's on their site.

It's not in the doors but under the AC controls as in the video here

Oh, don't know how I read that so wrong, sorry.

I didn't know that center light was a thing, I'm not very familiar with the xD. But again I would say best bet is to pull the panels off and see what's under them so you know if you're dealing with parts that are easily replaceable.

Funny thing it started working earlier I think there may be a short so I'm going to take it to the CarMax i got it from I get a 30 day warranty plus a 5 year 100k, extended warranty I'll have them look at it though.
