Getting a Remote Key Fob for 2013 and later models
I have a 2013 Scion xD, and I've only ever had the physical key with no buttons on it. I'm looking into getting an actual remote key fob, but when looking at listings off of Ebay or Amazon, most of them specify the years as only being 2008-2012. Did Toyota make a change with their fobs after 2012? Will those fobs work for my 2013? Anyone had experience with this? Thanks, any help would be appreciated.
Alright, I now have answers. Scion did indeed change their fobs in 2013, and I found the new key's FCC ID in the owner's manual.
MOZB52TH and MOZB41RH
Searching the top code should give you results on a new fob (though they are admittedly more expensive than the previous fob). I tried looking up the bottom key and got nothing, so I'd just stick with searching MOZB52TH to find a fob. I didn't see any other forums about this so hopefully this will be helpful in the future.
