Default Rear-Center Seatbelt Manufacturer's Defect

I would like to ask if anyone else has noticed a problem with the rear center seatbelt. Ever since I bought my magnetic grey '08 I have loved it, however ever since, i have also been dealing with this issue.

My rear center seatbelt came with a crushed female piece and would not lock. it took several months to get a replacement and the pieces didn't even fit. two more attempts at ordering including the wrong parts once, I was informed that they tried everything and that it was a manufacturer's defect. I am waiting to hear back from my dealer regarding their calls to corporate.

Has anyone else had any similar issues? Have they been resolved? I love this car, but i refuse to have been sold a product that does not work as advertised, or is unsafe to operate with 4 passengers.

thanks in advance for the feedback.

Could it be the male piece that is defective? Mine works fine, so I'm not much help to you.

I never have more than 3 people in my car so I actually unbolted the seat belt and shoved it behind the column that it came out of. Mine NEVER stayed put for long since I would have my windows down and the wind would knock it down. So I just put it out of sight

what dealership are you using? how hard is it to mate male and female seat belt buckles?

they have to be totally stupid to not be able to order the right seatbelt buckles for a scion xd.

the center belt female end is certainly different from the left and right position. Maybe they are ordering the wrong one? Maybe your car came with the wrong one in the first place? Hard to imagine... but anything is possible. It would be pretty easy to try buckling the parts to an xD on the lot and see which part is wrong.

I havent seen this issue. Let me ask you something. If it was documented at time of new. Why cant they or didnt they rob Peter to pay Paul??? In the name of customer service that is what I would of done. As in replace the whole assembly from another unit on the lot. Of course one that did work or no issues

Is the damaged part the large side (similar to the left and right position) or the small latch that only the center has?

I'm guessing it is the larger latch. If so, the female part should have the word "CENTER" molded into it and part number 080924HEP. The male part should have T8922 on the metal blade and AB055 on the plastic. Is that correct?
