you do realize that they are the basically the same model? the only reason they smashed the xA's name and named it the xD was to try and remarket it since the xA was very subpar in the US market. I can guarantee you if the xA had been successful, the current xD would have xA badges. in Ya-Pan its the same model, (iST) just picked up a facelift in the 08.

I think the major problem the xD is having is that its being sold and being styled as a scion. and that they also have direct competition in its own brand in the 3 and 5 door Yaris which is the same chassis.

as far as what id like to see if i had interest in buying a new car and getting back into an xD. probably a front end facelift, theyre hideous stock, and the body lines dont flow very well until the car is moderately droped (something econobox drivers dont really do much of), and front seats that are height adjustable. at 6'3 my head was against the roof 75% of the time.

The direct injection idea is good, that would up the hp a lil as well as the mpg. Fix the crappy turning radius this thing has. Just slightly more cargo room, it takes a lot of effort to get a full size bike in the back.

I think you're missing the point of the thread. It's factory changes for a future model year, not what you personally want to modify.

Yep plus some people are talking like they want Scion to offer multi tier models of the xD which is something Scion will never do.

Multi-tier modeling would definitely be a bust. I'm actually surprised the xD isn't far more popular than the yaris. Basically the same fuel economy and price in a slightly larger better looking package. Same goes to the kia soul, the xD gets much better mpg and looks better for the same size/price.
