Header Install (DC Sports)
alright help me out!
just recently, a friend of mine installed antifoulers to take off the CEL (i have a DC header). after the install we left the battery disconnected for about 10 minutes.
precisely after 37.5 miles the CEL came back on. it stayed on for about a week
some people said to just reset the ecu and leave the battery disconnected for a longer period. i left if off for 20 minutes and the CEL disappeared for a day...
then just this last weekend, it turned off.... it was off for about 2 days then turned again just this morning.
i hate how it gets my hopes n spirits up cuz theres not CEL, then it shuts me back down -__- haha.
any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks guys! :D

gammatnt, yes sir the antifoulers are exactly the way yours are pictured
laminate, i have 2. i bought them from autozone
i did a bit of research, supposedly i'm supposed angle the sensor? or maybe i need a 3rd antifoul? i heard the need of the 3rd antifoul is usually for megan headers tho, i have a DC 4-2-1

try three. if that still doesnt work then either buy the angled one from somewhere prolly online. or get a hold of a cheap catalytic converter and bust out a piece of the inside. then put it in the antifoulers u have, right in front of the sensor.
mine did kinda the same thing for a while.. i have DC headers and with 2 antifoulers it never completely worked. only for a few days here and there, sometimes a few weeks, but never working for good. i eventually put 3 antifoulers and drilled holes in the last two. putting pieces from an extra catalytic converter in front the sensor as much as could fit (not much could fit). this has been working for at least a year now. no problems at all. hope you find a fix before u have to go out and buy a cat or an elbow shaped one.

Im having serious problems getting the one his hammering at off. everythings in the way been trying for about an hour even had my roomate try for a little bit. i just cant seem to get it. is there a tool that would make this easier?
i know what your talking about. the problem is that ive only lived in raleigh for a couple of months and dont know many people i work alot so dont know anybody who could take me anywhere to get one. so i jsut finished hooking everythign back up. (had already got all bolts of header, both o2 sensors out, s pipe off) o well 2maro ill go home depot or something and try that. nothing like laying under your car at 2am in a ____ty neighborhood with a flashlight in your mouth.
i try that same method when i had my headers install but it didn't work, so i ended up buying the anti fouler, but good write up i follow this on installing the headers and it worked out greatly.
Hey guys, really loving this thread, really helpful. Im doing a buddies DC headers tomorrow after noon. Just a couple questions. Right now he has a K&N short ram, and a DC axle back. When I install the headers with out any aftermarket mid pipe or s pipe will there be any sound difference if there is only an axle back on the car???

You should go with the Megan Drift Spec exhaust. I dont have headers in YET and it has a nice low deep pitch, and when accelerating it just loud no ricer sound. plus if your in a lower gear with your foot off the gas it pops back pretty nice. I'd say it sounds like a baby Subbie (i say baby because a Subbie is stupid loud). Plus the exhaust tip is angled and looks more aggressive.

Thanks for write up it really helped alot i currently installed a set of Alphawerks header with tsudo S pipe and Tsudo midpipe and a HKS axleback (sounds great) . I also did the Anti Foul trick with the 18mm 40002 product recomended from autozone but as you can see in the picture the O2 sensor is extremely close to the side and im afraid if going to brake. Any suggestions
