Default Cleaning out the intake pipe

I just got my kit. The intake pipe is full of metal shavings and crap. How do you get all the junk out of it before installing?

Mine too. I called and he said just to run water through it, and let it dry before installing. I havent installed mine yet, just took it out of the package to check it out.

You may also want to zip tie the evap system purge valve to some of the air hoses around it so it doesn’t move around, just don’t clamp off the hoses. Weapon R should have had a bracket for the evap system purge valve so it could mount to like the intake tube like stock. I’m going to look into making something for this a let you guys know how it goes.
How does having this hose hanging effect the car? What was this hose used for? Should i be concerned or worried about this not being connected? Will this cause me any problems?

sorry for the 1000x questions I bought the intake then read about this hose and was like "ohhh crap"

I'm not sure what you mean by "What was this hose used for? Should i be concerned or worried about this not being connected? " That hose *does* stay connected. It's actually two hoses. It connects to the evap system purge valve.

eeek, the long hose supplied with the kit seems like its 3x too long to fit from the stem on the intake tubing to lil hole that i removed the origional tube on the manifold from. Im 99% sure that my install is wrong. anyone have any more detailed pics or walkthroughs? or idiot proof guides

Yes, if you read the directions that came with the kit, it says to trim the hose with a razor blade. What I did was measure a few times, give myself some extra slack, like 4-5 inches, and cut. There was an obvious kink in the hose (planned), and I just continued to trim a little at a time, until I had it at the desired length, with no kink, and no excess slack.

This is normal. All aftermarket intakes sound louder; this is due to the pipe being polished, instead of baffled, as well as the airfilter not being enclosed on a box. The whistle was actually always there on your car, but it too is also more pronounced with the polished pipe, non enclosed air filter.
