Is it normal for these LEDs to be much harder than the others? It seems they are glued in the middle... is there a trick for getting these off? I remove most the solder I can from the pad but I still ended up breaking off a pad the LED goes on when I tried ot get one side of it up... It's like there is a glue and i am stumped. Now I gotta go buy a new Steering wheel control. =/ Any suggestions on easier removal?

yah, there's some glue thingy in the middle of each led..

haven't had much issues removing them... just use enough solder on there to melt it, and i actually go back and forth getting both sides melted before i apply enough pressure to break that gluey crap.

or i just use hot tweezers.

Always disconnect the negative battery cable when working with onboard electronics, especially around airbags...
The thread I read on the steering wheel swap for tC to a xB say to disconnect the battery and wait for 15 minutes to let the ar bag discharge and it also said if you are going to place it down, put it face side up.

Good luck, I will be doing this one in the near future to BLUE.

They should only go in one way(they should have a flat spot on one side), those are what push against the membrane and make the contact with the circuit board to activate the various functions

Default Do i need a resistor?

I currently have the stock amber steering wheel control lights. If i exchange them for blue LEDs do i need a resistor too? If I do how do I get an extra for my steering wheel?
