Just try to keep them as dry as possible. They should hold up but be careful just in case :D

If you want them flat dont clear them becuase it will give it a shine if you do. I used 3 coats of the Dupli Color clear coat and it came out good. Just make sure not to get any water or wash them for about a week.

You'll be fine with no clearcoat. Mine aren't clearcoated and they're coming up on a year with no problems.

Hey I saw this thread and I thought the wheels looked awesome. So when I was on spring break from school I painted my wheels with a couple of buddys. I thought they came out great, except for a few stray lines, but I touched them up the next day. I painted two coats of flat black (Duplicolor) but there is no clear coat. Here's some pics of us painting the wheels and calipers while we were at it:

The car was floated on to the stands

Taped up and sanded. Such a contrast.

My buddies, Joe and Wade, helping out with the painting.

Also painted the calipers blue (Duplicolor also).

The results after a week of curing, a car wash with some wax, and a trip to the po-po:

Guess we had a little too much fun wasting time when the paint was drying:

Heres a couple of pics of My SW with bronze. While doing it was feeling anxious finish, but fought it and took my time - never regreted it.

well for the no clear coat comments ..... I myself dont recomend that..... they make matte clear coats to retain the flat look.... a color paint is only a pigment and has no hardeners for longevity...

and congrats on your wheels holding up that long with no clear coat..... this is a very good mod and can change the whole look of the car.... I did this myself before i found this how-to .... took me 30days start to finish (i live in an apt and did all the sanding by hand)

Before

After

yeah im defiantly doing mine when i get home, the painted stock look way better than my aftermarket wheels. I bought the wheels for my old car tho and carried them over, but the black paint definatly kicks ___
