I used 600 when I did mine. Haven't used the filler primer before, so don't know how it will work. For clear coat...I went with duplicolor.

those came out real nicee, did u use primer at all? and did u wet sand inbetween? and how many coats of each did u use?

Duplicolor ecthing primer..then paint 5 light coats of graphite (face).
Then 7 coats of mirage paint (lip).... then 5 coats of clear. Then let them sit in the sun for 2 days.

im considering painting my rims...should i worry about painting the inside of the rim or just the outside?...what do u guys usually do?

800 grit may be too smooth...I'm sure it'll work you'll just have to do more work I imagine...I'ld go get 400 grit

I plan to paint the inside of my rim too. I don't believe most people painted the inside...but some did.

What would be the best paint to use for the rims? And how much does it run? And how much would I need?

Don't know which part of the rim I am going to paint yet, but I definitely am going to do it.

i've had mine done for a while.. since like last year.

that's how they were last year, but then gold started getting played out, so i went a different way.

lriicelboy...I like the blue!!! I was going back and forth between blue and burnt orange colors. Would you happen to have some pics with the wheels in the sunlight?

some awesome wheels in here . Once i get an extra set of stockies i will be doing this . i wouldnt want to try it on the only rims i have and mess em up !

im putting a fresh coat of blue on over the winter, maybe 5 new coats each rim, and then 15 coats of clear with some wet sanding in between. =) believe me, wet sanding makes a difference! i'll have all winter to get them done right.
