Daylight Savings Time
Guys, Do we need to adjust our profiles, or will you change the servers - it appears that timestamps are now 1-hour off.

Is it the software, or the servers? They may be off?

Usually the software b/c some will do it and some won't. The way it's coded is that you're just taking GMT time and subtracting (or adding) a number of hours. So the GMT time changes, but that number you're changing it by doesn't, so now it's off by an hour.

Yeah, I'm just wondering if you change the server's clocks, it will be OK so people don't have to change their profiles...or, are the server's clocks OK and the software hoses things?

Yeah, which really makes the most sense - changing ONE clock (server) or changing 20,000 profiles, one at a time?
Last year it was 'change 20,000 profiles,' maybe with the new forum software release (SOON!) this will no longer be a problem.

So, Tom, you're saying that changing the server's clock doesn't fix the issue due to the forum software?

The server clock is set to GMT -- it does not change with Daylight Savings Time. In fact, there are many parts of the country that do not observe DST, so if we change the server then all THEIR times would be wrong by an hour.
You will need to go into your profile and change your timezone settings.
