Default Used tC with high[er] miles?

I'm looking around for a used tC, and my budget isn't exactly the highest. Basically, I'm looking around the $13,000~ area, +/- a bit. I'm seeing plenty of tC's with about 60,000-80,000 miles on them. My question is: Is it worth it to look into a tC with that many miles on it already?

60-80k miles is alot IMO. I have an 05 with 18k miles. I know it all depends on the owner of how much they drove the tC. I would personally look for an 05-06 with around 40-50k miles on it with having 13k to spend. Go to the dealer and tell them what your looking for and dont give in. If they really want to they'll find you your tC.

1. as long as the car isn't tuned/mod'd--close to stock as possible
2. x2 on the maintenance docs like receipts etc....i always keep my maint. receipts/records...these will make it easier to sell my car in the future
3. have the VIN checked for history (though NOT always reliable----too much owner-dependent)
4. depends on the price---but it IS pretty high...imo, i'd look for something lower milage
5. x2 on the warranty (vry importante)

good luck! is this your first car???

Alright, cool. Thanks for all the help guys - it's really appreciated.

And well, this kind of is my first car, considering I always drive my dads 1985 El Camino whenever I need to drive somewhere (work, girlfriend, w/e), so I have a good amount of driving experience. But to answer your question, this is gonna by my own first car.

just remember, if the engine craps out you can always replace that with another 2az-fe. should be good as new. some salvage yards can sell you a complete engine for about $300. that's a steal.

Mine is an 05 with 85K on it and the only problem I have had is a wheel bearing had to be replaced. It's a toyota, at 85k its just starting to get broken in!
