This is getting way out of hand. Let's end the debate on GM building cars for Toyota... They built one, and that's the Cavalier. Can we PLEASE keep this on topic now?

Toyota has also supplied Ford with its Hybrid software since day one on the Escape Hybrid.
Dude, why did you quote me? What you said is EXACTLY what I said, and we are in 100% agreement... Maybe you meant to argue with someone else?
sorry I wasn't quotein u. urs just got intangled in one of those quote within a quote things. my comment was in response to what emptystreets130 had said. and yes GM only built one car for Toyota.

They need to make sure that the entire platform is tuner freindly. Im sure it will be the tC replacement in the US. They need to make the engine accessible and the frame and body rigid, and suspension design easily upgradeable and tuned well from the factory. KEEP IT LIGHT. .... but its needs more power then the 1.5 120hp .. I say 2.4 2AZFE with the extra torque and power we'd be talkin now...!

Maybe it'll be the new sporty version of the Corolla? Specially considering its suppost to be a AE86 successor? eh? :D

Hmmm, good point.
Although...
Toyota might do a mid run, breaking half way into the 4 year run, for this sport corolla which is suppost to come out in 2010. It's been known to happen.
Don't know why they would say its a successor to an AE86 if they made it a scion. Doesn't jive with the history really. Course a lot of people say the tC is a celica replacement. So, hell, sure I guess this new car could be the new sporty scion.
As far as a celica replacement, whole idea of it, low weight, low hp and low cost doesn't seem to fit a celica. Course by the time they get it done, it might gain weight, hp and cost. :D

tC = Celica replacement

I believe that the Scion Brand name is WAAAY more popular with their target market then a Toyota Corolla would be.. But then again a small portion of that market knows about the AE86 and its history. But as a whole country the smarter thing to do would be to introduce it as a Scion
