Default Idling pretty rough.

Hi everyone I'm new to the thread! I've been trying to trouble shoot my 2006 TC by reading as much on here as I can. LostCause posted that he fixed his problem by cleaning the throttle body so i went ahead and did that too. it has Been running at about 500-550 rpms at idle and struggles when I turn a/c on. Possible thing to fix it from what I have read were as follows

-Bad spark plugs (they weren't bad but still replaced them)
-MAF sensor (wasn't bad but replaced it.)
- changed the oil
- cleaned the throttle body

The weird thing is that when I put the throttle body back on I forgot to hook the wires back up to it and it idles PERFECTLY like smooth and up to 1000-1100 rpms only problem was that it wouldn't drive hahaha. It would just coast. I hooked the wires back up and it's back to what it was before. Why would it run perfect if the wires are unplugged. And does this help determining why it's running so rough?

Thanks guys

Have you recently unhooked the battery? If so, the idle air control valve (or automatic idle speed motor) needs to reset / relearn what the engine wants as far as incoming air at idle. If you haven't disconnected the battery, is the check engine light on?
