hmmmm yeah
called the dealer about my a/c, while its baking in the sun for a few hours it doesn't cool down as fast and he said its normal it normaly takes 15-20 minutes for it too get cold
any ways i put a gauge in my a/c vent on max-freaze at the highest fan setting its 44 degrees is that good or bad or should it be slightly colder then that???
the only wany to combat my problem is i park in the shade and it gets about around 90-100 degree in the car while in the shade, i aint gonna test it in the sun too see how hot it gets no way

this is my good cheap fix it

Are your windows tinted? Do you use a sun shade? These would help the crappy Scion a/c a little...
44 degrees sounds about right, but I'm sure other cars get/feel colder. My old bucket (91 civic) used to give me the chills if you left it on full blast for more than 10 minutes. The xB needs the a/c at full blast just to be comfortable.

no there not tinted or have a reflective sun shade,
i do have a crazy surrealistic idea though got some of that
Reflectix like bubble wrap chrome on one side and white on the other cut a bunch of pieces to fit all the windows and get a bunch of suction cups and hang it up on the windows or just on the front windows and windshield or i just continue parking in the shade at work
its just an idea anyways
would using that same stuff be used to wrap the a/c lines under the hood be a good idea???

If you were gonna do that, you could just cut cardboard to fit each window. That would be cheaper and easier.
But definitely look into some good tint and buy a sunshade. It really helps.

I just crack my windows when I park. Works fine for me. I suppose I should get those vent things... but it was 95 and sunny the other day, got in and it wasn't too hot, AC cooled it right down.
I crack my windows, too- and the sunroof. I suppose not everyone would want to do that, but I just open them a tiny bit- can't even get a finger in. It helps alot, though- the heat won't build up the way it would if the car was totally closed up....
The last time I left my windows cracked just a bit, it rained SIDEWAYS!!!! Took forever to get the seats dry.
My windows are tinted, but it takes at least 5 minutes on high before I can really tell it is getting cooler....
