I just noticed Washing my car today I have a good half dozen little pits in my Windshield all in the bottom 6 inches of glass. Of course I remeber my Echo got a crack across the glass from the winters in Virginia.

What I'm about to say is just my personal opinion so take it as just that. I called Safelite and they installed my new glass for $175. Looks just like the OEM. Have had some small rocks hit it and nothing. My OEM glass was broken by a large piece of salt from one of our wonderful Michigan county trucks.
The Safelite glass has taken twice the whooping the OEM did and so far so good. You can argue all you want that PPG is better but the fact of the matter is I can buy 3 windshields for the price of your PPG. Ill take that risk. Hopefully this is helpful to someone.

There was another thread on here about this same thing and someone said they got Fuyayo glass and that it looked physically thicker than the stock glass when they put it in.

My OEM had several large spiders that never did spread but they were in my line of vision so I had it replaced.
The 2nd windshield was PPG and it lasted a year and a half with several dings but one turned into a large crack.
The 3rd windshield was a Safelite. It didn't last 2 months. It had on very small ding that turned into a long crack.
I requestd PPG for my 4th windshield because it seemed to hold up the best.

Default Windshield

Thanks for the tips. i had heard that PPG and Fuyao were the way to go. that others didn't fit properly.
I'm going to give the Scion people a call and get a case going b/c mine was not a chip to crack deal.

Regardless, I will have to fix it soon as I have come to understand (yes sir mr officer sir) it is not OK to have a cracked windshield.
