I read a really interesting article about that in Time magazine a few monthes back. Great read. I'll have to see if I can a link online to the article.

 

Somewhere in the mid 20 pages it is mentioned that if the polar ice caps melted that would raise the sea levels by only 215 feet or so. Why is it then I have found seacreature fossils at 5,000 foot elevations and over 8,000 and are at least 600 miles away from the closest body of water? If there was no great flood then how did they get there?


As to Indias starving children, start killing some of those holy cows, and get a cheeseburger or two. As for Africa, should the US go in and start getting rid of all the militas that take the food from the people and give it to the few that are in power, look how good of a job we are doing in Iraq, or even in Somalia.

In America the Christian faith seems to be a joke. There are too many people that just sit being salt in a salt shaker, never getting out trying to learn what they believe or why. We are supposed to be salt to a dying world, instead most of them get clumped up inside the salt shaker, and start blindly following the blind, I admit I have been in this category, and am trying to learn what it is to really be a true follower of God.

From what I have learned it is fairly stairght forwarded. It kind of seems dumb to have faith of a child, especially when you can get a child to do almost anything for you. But the whole jist of God is love. Now it has been asked how can God love a murder, rapist, drugdealer, pedophile, homosexual? God loves the person, just not the sin. Is it fair? Is natural selection fair? God knows that the only way to truly love is to have the choice to love or not to love. Can we as humans ever fathom this love? The best example I could give is with parents and kids. Can a child ever love a parent as much as a parent loves the child? I know that analogy can be knit picked, but think about it who loves who more? Much in the same way we can never know the depths of Gods love.

I did see proof of God today: While driving down the highway there were tons of blue bonnets in bloom. But wait that only starts the circle that has been going on for the previous 34 pages. One thing I do realize, the Bible whatever words can be said in this post or said by all the people of the world will never measure up to how great awesome wonderful the God of Moses, Abrahaam, Isaac, Jacob, David, and me, because we are only human, and can never express the greatness of God if I lived to be 1,000,000 years old. Besides how great would it be to serve a god that lived in a box shared by a cheesburger?

 

Parent to child relationship is weak to say the least...
God let's thousands of his children die day after day in horrible ways. Bad parent if you ask me, social services should step in at some point.

If god did prevent people from dying, there would still be people like you complaining about how god dosen't let us live our lives how it should be.

 

I would have to say...possibly tectonic plates pushing the earth up over the years. I don't know the details of your finds though.

heard of plate techtonics? landmasses near faults(subduction zones) collide into each other, and when it does, some land gets pushed underneath and some gets pushed above. it's the reason the rockies are so close to the ocean. So when a piece of oceanfloor (with your fossils) gets pushed up and turns into a mountain, sea creature fossils are found at higher elevation.

I was waiting to read the proof you have after making that first statement, maybe you left that out. What proof of god do you have?

I go to chruch every once in a while since I'm oped to others' religions.

There was a time where they showed the youth group a video. Scientific evidence that proves the bible's truth...

these where funny...

The funniest of them was, the earth once had a floating layer of water hovering above the clouds. That's what made the flood from the "ark" story possible.

I think christians' chances of winning this debate with that video representing them, are slim. I'd be embarassed to know those morons(in the video) were on my side.

 

I know alot about this theory, the water vapor layer. It's impossible to work, it requires our surface temperature to be a few hundred of degrees farenheit.

but again, these christian scientists that came up with this b.s. totally forget about salinity.

I think it's obvious noah and the earth's people couldn't live on something as hot as venus.

 

Weren't they superhuman though? They lived to be a couple hundred years didn't they...or so they claim. What's to say they couldn't withstand living in a fryingpan?

As for Dave, Im sure you would ask, why would I like to try to believe if there is no proof......

Next month on the 26th marks the 2 year aneversary of my roomates Death. He was pretty much a brother to me. He died on the 26th of May....He was born the 25th of May......and he died one day after his 21st birthday in a ATV quad accident. As I stood over him waiting for the police and ambulance looking at his life less body....I'd like to believe that one day when Im gone, that he and I could be riding our quads again one day. I like to beleive that one day, I will be there with all my loved ones!

Maybe there is no God, Maybe its all just one big hoax that was created as one big scared straight program, or maybe it alls just boils down to faith and believeing in something so much that it just may be true!

believe me, i tried. For like my ages 7-10, i hoped i would become an invisible werewolf with the power to fly. i wished, hoped, dreamnt it near everyday. I was even a christian back then, and prayed to jesus for it. damned if I tried believing in something so hard to make it true.
