on pbase there is a feature where u can look at images taken by a specific lens.

after reading on POTN, i have come to the conclusion that the difference btw the 17-50 and the 17-55IS is the IS and the USM as well as the better DOF at 2.8 and much faster AF for the Canon. I of course do nothing that needs the better features like wedding and or portraits or low light shoots. so saving myself almost 700 is a plus that the Tamaron has. The reason i am asking this is that i want to upgrade my mid range lens. The 18-55 isnt cutting it for me.
There are so many things wrong with this pic that it's absolutely retarded. But, for a pic I took at random, freehanded, when it was pretty much pitch black...I thought it looked pretty cool.
Sorry for the bad quality as I've simply copied the location from my FaceBook page.

Quick question guys, I'm getting ready to get a DSLR camera very very soon and I've looked into a few options. Price is not really an issue, but it's my first DSLR.
I've looked at getting either the Canon T1I or the Nikon d5000 (Leaning towards Canon on this comparison).
Or the next would be the Canon 50d vs Nikon d90 (no favorite here, have video option though on the Nikon is good)
What does everyone think I should get for my first dslr? I also compared the Canon T1I vs the Nikon D90 but it appears this is unfair and the Nikon wins. Any opinions on what I should get / consider / opinions. I want to make a good choice and get an all around good dslr.
