DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
i dont see why people are so scared to use raw, I mean its one of the advantages of using a dslr. using jpeg is like driving a porche 20 miph all the time.
I can understand however if you dont have software to read raw format, then raw is not an option, however if you are going to shoot in jpeg all the time, you are barely tapping the potential of the camera and doing yourself a disservice.

canon comes with software, Im not familiar with anything but their download utility, but I think it should also come with photo eiditing software, and maybe their software can read raw also. Not sure though I never used that photo software, Ive been using PS since version 5.
i can use PS if i go on campus. i may start doing that...
also, E, i dont have a MAC or we wouldnt be having this convorsation bc PS would already be on my computer.

Well, I've browsed this post for awhile. Though I'd throw up what I got...I'm not the richest guy, but I make do.
Nikon D40
Nikon NIKKOR 18-55mm AF-S f/3.5-5.6
Sigma DG 70-300mm f/4-5.6 AF-S
Hoya filters- PL-CIR, warm, and UV
Other accs- cleaning kit, etc...
It's only a D40, but in RAW it takes some great photos for an entry level DSLR. I've just run outta stuff to take photos of.
Trying to figure out what camera to get next. I really like Nikon, so I'm gonna stick with them. I want a D700, but it's almost $3,000!!! Is a full frame sensor really that bigga deal, or will a DX version be just as good?

full frame if u work in tight spaces and just really LOVE wide angle like I do. OTher than that it's not that big of a deal. Full frame definitely catches more dust and dirt than a cropped sensor.
