I know for the second one I was attempting to focus in on the "Coleman", but apparently that did not happen, lol.

Btw, do most of you have that switch on your lenses turned to "m"?
Honestly, I haven't read the manual on the camera yet, but I would assume the "m" stand for manual versus automatic.

 

how do you guys manage to get a media pass? Always wanted to get one for the drifting and time attacks but never knew how.

 

^ to get a media pass become friends with P-tuning. It worked for Carbon haha.

And yes, the M is for manual where AF is autofocus

Don't mind my stupidity..I'm trying to learn techniques here.

 

I usually use manual for still targets, or something slow moving or i can predict the movement of. I am still learning, so I use AF for fast moving thing like a time attack event.

same here. for static shots, i use M so i can choose the focal point, where as for moving objects or when i dont have time to choose a focal point, AF.

Haha yea, PTuning got me the media pass because they needed an action shot of the car on the track with their new sponsor visible.

how u guys do rolling shots? Manual focus or auto focus?

 

^^ you always want to take autofocus on a moving subject.. its hard to catch doing manually.. i hardly do any manual focus on anything.. maybe on some macros

 

Rolling shots are cake. Shutter proirity set to 1/40-1/60" and just click away.

 

nice to know i can use auto focus on most of shots. (i always thought you got to be a rocket scientist to use DSLR

 

if that was the case, i would be in trouble.
