My school has a photo contest for study abroad students, and the deadline is tomorrow. We are allowed 3 entries, and the objective is to either make people want to visit that country, or emphasis something unique culturally about it. Here are 3 I'm thinking about submitting, C&C is appreciated.

Thanks Ace. I might whip up a version of 3 without the lomo effect, but I think it works best with it.

Oh, and content-aware is amazing for the proper things. For example, 2 and 3 above were taken from a rocking boat, so the horizons were crooked. So I rotated them and used CA to fill in the white gaps left from doing so.

Oh yeah, and I took out two other boats from #2

 

Post whoring tonight... A final, fifth option I kinda like. The ruins of Ephesus, with the reconstructed Library of Celsus at the bottom of the hill

are they judged on photo content or photo quality?

 

A little of both I think. Obviously it should be a high quality photo, but needs content which would make someone want to see the country, or reveal something about the location.

 

^^based off that, def go with the 2nd pic. It is beautiful on top of really alluring. The people swimming around and having a good time in such clear blue water is something I never thought of when I thought of Turkey. It's a great shot with a great capture.

I would also stay away from pics with crowds. People don't want to travel to crowded areas, they want to see the sights. Pics with less people and more content will be a winnar!
