Haha Jasper I am not trading. I do not like the ergo's of Nikon. I also don't want to do a 365 not because of the challenge, but it just seems boring to me. I like the idea of daily shoot...thanks!

So more or less here is the gear I have now

Body: Canon 30D + Grip
Lenses: Canon 50 1.8 / Tokina 11-16 2.8 / Canon 70-200L 4.0 / Sigma 400 5.6
Lighting: 3x Vivitar 285hv / Canon 420ex

Here is what I think I want

Body: 7D
Lenses: Sigma 30 1.4 / Canon 85 1.8 / Canon 135L 2.0
Lighting: As above because I still haven't learned lighting as well as I want to warrant new gear

Just wanting to try new things out

 

I'd go with primes only if you're not doing fast paced work. If you can spare a extra body and have it dedicated just for primes then bam.

I was the same way, primes primes primes, but it lacked in versatility so now I have my 24-70, and 70-200 2.8 IS. If I want to get creative I'll throw on the 50 1.4

 

I agree. My reasoning for primes is because my friend has the zooms I would want to use... 24-70, 80-200, and a 17-40... so if i want to use them I'll just borrow. I also want to just change everything up for the time being until I find myself as a photographer again.

 

urrrggggggg this makes me boil. i know quite a few folks JUST like this. just like the lady's on the Judge Joe Brown episode. setup websites, watermarks, the whole nine yards... making themselves appear like professional photographers when they know NOTHING about what they are even doing or how it works. i'll be the first one to say i AM NOT in any way a professional photographer.

last night: i had alot of issues with the fireworks. I was way way too close to the water. Plus the 20mph gusts didnt help at all

i love this mountain. this is the view pulling into (office) work in the morning.

 

 

not to many fireworks in my area, but it was still fun. we have our new years traditions.
me and the wife decided to head to sf earlier that morning to see the sunrise. its funny that what we went for but i have no pictures of a sunrise to prove it lol.
