use the want to be as talented as the people you see up here for determination to get better! all these guys on here just make me want to be in their range of photography. I am nowhere near that at this point but i am trying to take pictures everyday, and even look at old pics i had before my dslr and try and re edit them and try to mimic their editing style as well as find my own style in the process. I am still learning and seeing all the stuff they come out with help me want to practice more. I have only had my T1i since march, i am exploring the new world of Post processing atm as well as shooting itself. i am still learning what my cameras capabilities are and how to use them to the fullest to my knowledge.
idk really know what i wrote their, kinda got too into it. but maybe there is something you can understand in there. haha

That Datsun is so hot. Great pictures, man.
Its kinda weird, though.. The pictures look great when i view them from my iPhone. Image quality is absolutely perfect. When I look at them from my MacBook Pro, however, some parts of the car are a bit distorted.

Went to Road Atlanta for a track day. Had the opportunity to do a couple laps in the tC at slower speeds. Makes me want to get a track car though!

^ I'm sure you know how to do the basic function of using video on the D90, right? It's basically the same as taking photos in terms of settings. IS0, Aperture, lighting... it all applies the same. Only thing about the D90 is that we can't change the frame rate, so we're stuck shooting at 24 FPS at 720p. So pick an aperture that works for your scene, keep the ISO as low as you can, and record. Manual focus your way through the scene.

I really need to get some stabilization gear and a slider for some smooth shots. All I have now is a $20 tripod and it can be very difficult to work with. It doesn't pan/tilt smooth at all.

You have to look at the LCD and turn the focus ring until it's in focus. This is where an understanding of distance and aperture comes in handy. That way it won't look like you were searching for focus during the video. It sucks that on a lot of lenses the markings aren't on the body anymore like on the 50mm for example.

Right use the focus ring to focus on your subject in the video. As jon said, using the LCD screen you can see what you're focusing on. With your 35mm, for example, try to stay away from 1.8 unless you're doing something artsy. Otherwise you'll be focusing A LOT because of the shallow depth of field. In the video above, I don't think I went wider than like 5.6.

You don't have to go anywhere. I've seen videos of people cooking breakfast that were amazing lol.

^ This. I remember when I first started looking up videos shot on the D90 back when I decided to buy one, and some one made a short film about Heineken right in their own apartment. It was awesome.

GMC_113, I just started using Adobe Premiere and After Effects. It's uber complicated compared to things like Windows Movie Maker and iMove. But those will do just fine. I've seen a lot of good videos from Windows Movie Maker and I was using iMove prior to Premiere.
