what things? i'm just not understanding what you are trying to say about the restriction of your current lens. i understand the zoom as it maxes out at 55mm but what are these other things about the lens that is restricting you?

 

ur 18-55 is basically a 28-80mm lens.

ok u know with a fisheye that u aren't gonna get all the distortion or range that u should get, right?

 

just mainly the zoom aspect, focusing is great, it just feels like i have to be on top of something so close for macro as opposed to when I shot macro with my powershot.

 

Yah you don't need to have a super zoom lens. Just paly around with the lens you have and learn your camera

 

I think you're holding it wrong.. You want to support the camera, not put more weight on top of it..

But congrats. You'll have fun with it.

alright I went outside and tried out some macro...

 

bought myself a d60 for xmas.. my bonus check was a lot more than expected..

trying to remember all the stuff i learned in photo class back in high school.. these are my sad attempts at trying to catch a stream of rain and a depth of field.. need to play around with the f/stops more i guess

 

they're nice and clear but subjects are jsut boring,

and scion jon, i hold it that way sometimes too, and the 18-220 i just got has jsut as wide an angle, and it feels good to have the zoom :D

 

it was raining outside so i had nothing to take pictures of.. im going out to see if i can take some nice pictures later tonight.. more like a proof of concept

what about all of this "oh man DOF DOF oh man so DOF!" pictures that keep getting posted??? those could be said to be just as worthy!

hopefully the manual shows how to NOT take boring shots so people stop reminding you how boring you are
