On the video, seems like D7000's are going for solid prices these days. Might not be a bad video body to have and it can double as a backup. Canon T2i's are super cheap now but that means another range of lenses.

Thanks speedy. I've only been using the 5D2 around the house for an hour but I already kind of feel the age on this body. It's actually only a few months old, but you can tell it was designed years ago. The ergonomics are kinda crap IMO. But from my little experience with the 50mm 1.2, it doesn't really shine until you use it for video.

when I was shopping for my first dslr i was set on a canon until i picked one up and the ergonomics didnt feel right from the get go that was my major decision making factor. but that 50mm f1.2 will always be in the back of my head lol. nikon has a really old 50mm f1.2 my friend picked one up pretty cheap but i cant stand that lens its focus distance is trash.

No more crop sensor for me. If I get serious about the video, I'm just gonna get a 5D2 and the new Sigma 35mm f/1.4. I'd get a D800, but the 36mp is just too much.

Here's a shot from earlier. My buddy got some Leon Hardiritts on his Forte.

Idk man I might just have to rent one and see lol. My computer can handle them fine, I just worry about having to buy storage more often.

I really don't like shooting black cars, but I don't do anything special. I just expose for the car and handle the background later. Also I don't shoot in the middle of the day. It was around 6pm when I took that. I also use LR4 to edit so I have more control over highlights and shadows.

I just got rid of the 50mm f/1.8 and picked up a 70-200mm F4 for outdoor shooting, probably going to get a 50mm F/1.4 or a 24-70mm down the line for indoor shooting with my 5DMKII.

You took it with the 5d? What settings and lens you use? Very nice! I gotta find a version of LR4, still with the LR3.

I got a problem with my 5D MKII wonder if others know a fix. In my view finder I see dust and hair line, but it doesn't show on the picture captured. I tooked out the focusing screen but don't see any dust. How can I get rid of it?

Thanks! I have a D700 actually. Took it with my 50mm f/1.8 @ f/3.5 and ISO200.

Regarding the dust, I'd take it to a professional shop to be cleaned. It could be on one of the mirrors.

That's a pretty sick car. Nice shot, Jon.

Still hunting for a deal on something wide. Anybody have experience with Nikon's 18-35mm 3.5-4.5D?

The only thing I like about LR4 is the highlight/shadow controls are much better. But I still miss the simple fill light slider for bringing out details in darker images.

Thanks man. No clue about the 18-35 personally. Seems to produce nice photos gauging from this thread: http://www.nikoncafe.com/vforums/sho...d.php?t=250775

I ordered a MB-D10 today. Still trying to decide what my next lens will be. I found a 70-200 2.8 for sale locally, but I'm not sure if I want to lug around a big lens again.

Yeahhh I just got LR4 and so far I liked LR3 better. Then again, I didn't use LR that often, only when I felt like playing with colors and tones.

Last shot with the 60D. It's getting boxed up tonight.

^that's cool and weird at the same time. The spots the blurs are in just make it seem weird, but I wouldn't change a thing.

I went to the Parkette with C4NN0N and his future wife the other night after going through the Toyota Manufacturing hiring processes (fun stuff there). This is shot from the interior.

If anyone wants to get into the f/1.4 game, the Sigma 30mm is on sale with a $200 instant rebate until the end of the year.
