I like hot rods. I Like rat rods. I Like old 30's-40's american cars. I like modern cars. I like the xB, xA, tC and the xD. I HATE the PT cruiser. The Hako looks like a box slammed on to a PT cruiser. If Scion had come out with this before the pt cruiser than I'd give them kudos for something retro new. But ya know what? They didn't. We in america have been done to death with retro by the domestic car companies. We don't need imports to do the same.
Having said all that tho, the concept is well done. Would like to point out that the old 30's cars greenhouses were slanted slightly, and most importantly on the sides whereas the Hako isn't.

That's a fairly valid point.

I'll counterpoint: the Hako isn't a modern interpretation of old American 30's-40's coupes. It's an interpretation of Japanese interpretation of 30's-40's coupe. It's roughly, the same thing but it's also nuanced.

I have a question though.... does any see ANY JGTC influence?

You should not be allowed to drop acid and design cars.

Oh man.

Sorry folks... I am digging this one...

If it takes dropping acid to design a great car like that... I will start buying stock in my local acid dealer...

Be it an AE86 replacement, a Celica All Trac Turbo (GT-4) or an MR-2 TURBO decendant, NOT LIKE the FUGLY MR-S, hell I wonder if they used some of the designers who did the horrible MR-S on this Horrible Hako..?
and how many sub 30 year olds can truly afford the insurance of a turbo awd or rwd coupe?

not too many.

let alone the MUCH more than likely WAY over 20K priceline that scion hold.

the mr-s may not have been bad arserd but it sold quite well , handled amazingly and with a kit and turbo/motorswap is a beautiful MONSTER of a car.

you seem quite closed minded , I suppose tis why you bought a plain jane overweight tc.

I still like the Hako, but...

Here's an idea- take the JDM bB and give it the door configuration of the Hako, as well as it's greenhouse from behind the A-pillars rearward (keeping the bB's windshield rake...) Make the wheel wells larger and the fenders more pronounced like the Hako, and that's a car I can see alot of people in the Scion community getting excited about.
