I know but we can dream. Scion would be wise to follow what you said Tomas but ya know they won't. They didn't want to listen when we said the xB2 was gonna fail either.

I don't think that it has failed. It just isn't the noticeable sales phenomenon that the xB1 was.

The xb2 is a great vehicle. I first wanted an xb1 but the lack of power and the lack of safety features turned me away. If it had the TC motor, I probably would have bought since I didn't want a coupe.

Scion answered my request when they brought out the 08 xb2! Its a great vehicle for the price. Everyone I know really likes it and are AMAZED at how much room there is in it because it looks "small" LOL.

Nah, it looks like a whale compared to the real xB. Plus the mpgs are a joke. Failure IMHO no wonder they are collecting dust on dealers lots.

LOL @ whale comment. I'd rather drive my very safe whale than to drive that tin can death on wheels xb1.

Your an idiot if you thing the mpgs are joke. Do you own one? Xb2s are capable of getting 30+mpgs (I know because I have!).

Umm there are lot of vehicles from different companies sitting on dealer lots! It's called a recession.

If you guys miss the xb1 one so much, go buy the nissan cube when it comes out. Its so dated just like the 1st gen xb.

you prolly need the mass of the xB2 cause you can't drive safe. I know people that have xB2s and they can barely get 28-29 mpgs from their over weight behemoths.
I don't miss the xB cause I still have mine but would never waste money on that cube thing. I'd buy another used xB first anyhow. Nice try tho.
I realize you are sore that the xB2 hasn't caught on and sold like the real xB but don't take that frustration out on me.

Not sore, I just love to brag about the superior xb :D. Everything about it is better than the original one (waits for EPA and weight comments again..... )

As long as YOU think so. Too bad the buying public don't agree.
Just keep telling yourself that the xB2 is superior if it helps you sleep better at night.

LOL buying public..........they don't know what they are buying. All they care is about gas mileage.

And yes I do sleep better thank you! Knowing my ride will run circles around 99% of xb1s is priceless :D

I my xb2.

I wouldnt say its superior(xb2 compared to xb1). I think they both have there positives and negatives. they both have different age gropus buying them and i honestly see more xb2's on the road then i do xb1's but then again i see more xd's followed by new corollas nowadays. I like both versions of the xb. i just think the shoulda given it a different name and then there prolly would be all this controversy. But i dont see them sitting on lots around here. I havent seen scions sitting for long at any of the toyota delaers around me.

Exactly right! The xB2 isn't a "bad" vehicle. It just got the wrong name. It needs it's own name and identity. It's NOT a box for one. It's not even a B segment vehicle because of its size.
It is nice that Scion came out with a vehicle to suit the needs of people wanting something closer to a minvan tho.
The xB2 should have been called either xC or xL but never xB. That was just wrong.

(Guys, just remember this is a polite discussion of Scion sales being down, and the changes in the Scion image... Do NOT attack each other, address the topic. Thanks)

I personally am just eager to see what the tC redesign looks like (i.e. engine hp, standard features, and style).

I have become really fond of my tC, but if the redesign just makes my jaw drop, then I'll have to see where my loyalty lies then. I personally don't see the company suffering, they seem to be doing alright as long as they keep throwing these insane gatherings for the owners.

As for the boxes, I'm 6'3", and after test driving the xB2, I like it. Wouldn't buy one, but like it.

I felt hope when there was talk of a RWD toyota coming out only to discover that, nope you guys in U.S. will get the subaru version only. That killed my hope that a second-gen tc would be RWD.

I just really wish toyota would have given us more powerplant options like the 3sgte which fits perfectly in the tc engine bay. Another choice was the 2zz but that was put on the shelf. Then there's the BEAMS 3s black top nice and ready for RWD applications but never offered in the US and from what I hear is a really expensive engine. I just feel Toyota has alot of other setups they could use for the tc but they are not really going down those roads.

Default Sitting Xb's

Went back to big Toyota/Scion Dealer on a closed Sunday....Still no Xd's or Yaris Hatchbacks on the lot, but a ton of Xb2's with "discount stickers" on the windshield....

It was the exact same batch of cars that were parked in the same spots as two weeks before with a couple of more XB's added on the end of the row where they were sitting(also with discount stickers on them). There were not any discount stickers on any other Toyotas or TC coupes either.

Strange.

Other end of the country: I was at a local dealer last week with my xB Classic and they tried desperately to get mine away from me, offering almost a thousand more than I paid for it in 2005 if I'd buy an xB2 - and bemoaning the fact they had no xDs to sell.

I spent a fair amount of time talking with them about why the xB2 wasn't selling like the xB Classic did.

The idea of Scion is to capture the imagination of new buyers into the Toyota family. The original xB and the tC are the ones that actually did that.

They really do need a fresh car that wasn't designed by a committee using surveys and polls. (Sadly that really is how the xB2 was designed.)

Scion needs to find an individual designer with vision and a marketing team with guts - just like the original bB/xB/tC.

A Scion needs to roll in the front door, lights flashing, music blaring, ignoring the shocked looks of the majority, not quietly sliping in the side door, blending in with the crowd - and getting lost.
