So 2 days ago I tinted my tails with VHT Nightshades and my clearcoat says to wait 48 hours before sanding, so today would be the day that I sand and shine, BUT, this morning I got up and I have a white streak down each headlight where the crease of the hatch is all the way from top to bottom. We’ve had really strong rain here for the past couple of hours, so I’m assuming that’s what’s causing it, but why is this happening? Is this going to fix itself and look good again when I wetsand and shine, or do I have to redo anything? I’ll take pics of the streak whenever it stops raining.

That's the finished product....I haven't taken the pic with the streak yet. It won't stop raining here lol. I have 2 light coats of clear and 2 heavy coats on it, just not sanded and shined. I'll get the pics up after I get home from work (about 4pm CT)

OK, so I wetsanded and shined em up real nice and it took away the white streaks (I forgot to take my camera outside).....only problem is I wish I would have gone darker since the sunset is hitting right on them and I can see through to the red and chrome a little bit. Not a problem, but when I help my buddy do his, I might put a couple more coats on

If you're going to add more clear coat somewhere down the road, be sure to sand the clear before you apply more. Otherwise the clear coat will chip, crack, and won't stick.

Yeah, I'd sand and then add more nightshades and then clear the hell out of it.....but I'm satisfied for now. I'll take some pics after work and post em tonight.

Ok, so it keeps raining and I keep getting the white streaks when it does. It's not too bad in the pic and it's hard to see. It starts where the hatch meets the top of the headlight.....like in that crack for the water to run off. Usually it goes all the way from top to bottom. I don't know what's causing it (besides the rain lol) and how to fix it....anyone??

I am going to put more on......when I painted and put them back on the car, I did it in a garage. Will the extra clear take care of the white streaks?

do this with them

wetsand with 1500 grit until they are smooth and look lie this with no orange peel
[imghttp://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc48/jakewatson/047.jpg[/img]

then load the clear coat on until they are glossy. what clear are u using anyways?heres what they look like after all clearing. do about 4 or 5 pretty heavy coats

no wet sand the clear with 1500 or 2k if u have it until its smooth again

now buff them out with a rubbing compound, then plasticX then a wax. my diy is in my sig it as all pictures and detailed steps
