so u just spray clear coat u dun have to sand or nething ....what kind of clear coat i might go ahead and do it today

 

no u have to sand. get 2000grit sand paper (really really really really fine sand paper) and wet sand, like they said use A LOT of water. should be good to go after that.

just soak the sand paper in water for a bit (idk maybe 5-10 min?) and then sand with the wet paper, keep dunkin the sandpaper in the water. and such. someone correct me if im wrong. but thats how i always wetsanded. just make sure the part your sanding and the sand paper is wet... very wet. oh and dont start sanding til lthe paint is very dry lol. you dont wanna wetsand on wet paint... duh.

 

I just kept a bucket full of water next to me and kept dipping my paper. After I wetsanded I was able to clearcoat which I used...Duplicolor Acrylic Lacquer Glossy Clearcoat and I used almost a whole can on each light and then I was done. I didnt need to do anymore wetsanding after the clear went on.

 

if you can get a light flow of water with wet paper is the best way to wet sand and you dont need to wet sand before you clear... wet sand only the clear coat as long as your spray is even...then make sure you buff it well

Has anyone tried tinted the front headlights? That is something I plan on doing with my BSP.

im actually doing this right now, and had a question. after i wetsand and put the clearcoat on it doesnt come out looking like black glass. it looks hazzy and condisated. so i wet sanded it again for the like the 3 time...thats where im at right now.

before i start to clear coat again..why are mine not looking shinny? am i just not using enough clear coat on my final pass?

 

use more clear coat maybe? mine came out glossy after using a can on each light

 

^^thanks Reese, that was it. I lathered that baby up with some clear coat. and ohhh man does it shine! I absolutely love the look, i got 2 compliments driving today already, and its only the first day! tommorrow i plan on baking the headlights to use it on that orange sidereflector and the eyelids. Ouch its hot in here....you cant touch this

Is there anyway you can take a night shot with your brake lights on? I want to see if you can actually see the brake lights at night with those babys blacked out.

 

They show up fine at night. The daytime is another story...
