HID's should be for sight, not color.. anything over 5000K and your likely to get a ticket, at least here anyways.. plus, your losing output for color.. these bubls are why there is an HID ban.. IMO, if you want color, get projectors...

he's right for the most part, but here where i am, you can have 10,000k and the cops dont care although 6,000k and 8,000k are the most popular

Not here in Georgia. People get away with BLUE led undercar lights here. I rode behind a cop for about 10 mins yesterday and no problem. It's pretty mellow.

I haven't heard of any tC projectors and I like these bulbs. So I'll just stick with that.

hey whatever - ya get what you pay for. Its obvious you cant expect to get a $1,600 projector set for $500

Incorrect.
4300K OEM pretty plain white
5000K Bluish white
6000K a hint of purple
8000K Very blue
10000K Very purple

6000K is the closes to natural sunlight and will give a good hue with good light output. I use these personally since I have sold every kind under the sun and anything over 6000K is noticably dimmer.

so if you get 8000k bulbs, then you should get 8000k lighting

8,000k = pretty blue, touch of purple
6,000k = white, touch of blue
4,000k = plain white (maybe alittle yellowish)

higher the 'k' = less light output/visibility

bmws i believe use 4,300k but the housing(projectors) give it that bluish look
the closes color to it without the projectors imo would be the 6000k
thats the kelvin i have and i wouldn't want it any other way
oh almost forgot, hid kits usually have a "break in time" they will slowly change to their true color in a few hours of use

don't know what kind of light your selling.
seen about 5 different rsx's with 6000k, couple of different brands
and 2 8,000k different brands

NONE had any purple in them, this is based on my experience and the vast amount of reading on clubrsx forums

do a search on there and let me know what you think.
i still believe the current information i know is correct unless you prove me otherwise

what do you sell?

I have installed and sold dozens of kits. Tons of different brands. Xenon Depot, ARI Philips all with the same coloring. We use ARI as we have very good pricing on kits and they work great. I have up to 12K available but 6000K has been the most popular by far. 90% of what we sell is 6000K. It offers the best light output while giving folks the coloring they like.

I have had NO problems with any of the lights we sell. We switched from Xenon depot to ARI simply due to price. quality on both has been nothing short of excellent.
