Hey guys, bought a tC today! 2009 White, its B E A UTIFUL! The only thing wrong with the car is one of the taillights looks like its bubbling or maybe was hit. I was wondering if I would just replace the plastic of would I have to buy the entire light? I will include a picture of the damage.

 

You'll need to buy a new assembly. The lens plastic is "welded" to the housing plastic.

 

Looks like condensation from the pic. But I'm on my phone so pic is hard to see. Mine got that after getting replaced body shop didn't seat it right. They had to pull it and put a thicker seal or something.

 

After zooming in it doesn't lol like condensation.

 

how much does it all cost? $250?

 

If you want to replace it with the same 2008 - 2010 type that you have now, check ebay, plenty available like this:

Or, you could replace both tails with 2005 - 2007 type, which some people like better than the 08 - 10, or TYCs, or aftermarket. Plenty of choices.
