Thanks for the update... Will I be getting a new rear section when they are ready?

Ok I just got my email (funny because I had JUST emailed them about it 2 minutes prior to receving the email) stating my exhaust would be shipping out on Monday May 22nd. I placed the order on April 26th.

Woot!

Correct,

We had delays in getting this batch completed...one reason or another. Always seems to happen. :-(

So that is why no one has received their replacement rear sections.

Now, the manufacturer is STRONGLY discouraging me to send replacement pieces out. He thinks it is is an issue with the particular header you have installed, and that sending you a new piece will not fix it. Now, I hope that the sound is fixed... if the sound IS NOT fixed, then There isnt much more I can do. You will need to take care of the issue with an additional resonator or replace your header. As we cannot sell a used exhaust system, if your car is the only car it sounds bad on.

There are plenty of Scion tC owners with our exhaust installed and a header installed where the exhaust sounds fine......So my hopes are High that this will take care of the problem.

the 8hp gain that is shown on the dyno on draxas.com. does that include s pipe? I noticed you were sponsered by MMW, wondering the exact setup of the tested car. I'm thinking MMW header and S-pipe along with this exhaust system. It sounds nice and doesnt seem to be as loud as the HKS, INJEN, or DC. which I like.
just worried about the mmw header fitment issues.

ritz, who are you refering to? if it is myself, no my car was not the car tested. it was another car with a K&N CAI, Alpha Werks Header, and DraXas Header Back Exhaust.

The dyno is old, outdated, and incorrect. Eventually a new dyno run will happen with more accurate numbers.

DraXas is coming out with a header as well, so it might be a good idea to wait for it to be developed before you purcahse a header. but the MMW header/spipe combo fits perfect on the Draxas exhaust.

if you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

I wouldn't say it fit like a glove, but it fits. It took a bit of jostling to get it right.
and no offense to you Zach, but they have been sayin a new dyno run will happen for months now

and it will Al... all in time. right now the owner is very busy with his other company (red line track events) and has been traveling ALOT. so there isnt much time to get a dyno in. it will happen eventually

$725 seems a little expensive for that exhaust. I'm a noob at exhaust (( )) so what does an s pipe even do? Thanks..

the spipe replaces your stock spipe

it is called an "spipe" because it is a pipe bent into the shape of an "s"

the stock spipe has a very small inner diameter, i believe 1 3/4" (where your exhaust flows), where as draxas spipe has a 2.5" inner diameter to allow a more free flowing exhaust. the spipe is the most restrictive part in your exhaust system, so to have a larger spipe inner diameter, increases HP.

alrite that's what i figured Thank you. So basically you want to have the same diameter all the way through your entire exhaust system from your header to spipe to exhaust?

yeah. the same diameter from the collector of the header and back is good.

draxas is top notch, and is the only exhaust on the market that doesnt produce rasp with after market headers, and somes with a lifetime warranty. something to take into consideration when purchasing

so draxas does not make a header yet? right now im looking into selling my 2000 montero sport for a scion tc

Also i know stock tc gets 160hp. If i had an injen or k&n cai and a header and draxas exhaust w/ spipe what kind of hp increase would that give me total?

dont count on the header too soon - nobody knows when they plan on actually making it.
