I haven't thought too much about a good analogy but in the end, it's just another means of going faster. If 50 or 75 hp is that worthwhile to you, then go for it. I don't know if it can actually be more or less legal on degrees but I imagine it's easier to run a stealth N2O setup than a stealth turbo setup.

As far as my comment on internals: yea, you'd do the same for boost. However, revving your engine a lot higher causes a LOT more damage than adding a lot of boost.

I like 3min3m2's idea... Just grab yourself a smallblock and car to put it in and then go to town.

thanks....i thought it was a good idea myself too :D

not that im conceited...lol

As with everything, it's all about moderation. A car that's turbo'd with the boost cranked way up it just as dangerous as shooting too much nitrous or laying in too much of a shot at one time. Both mods should be done with internals.

-Because of the sudden and intense heat when using nitrous. It's highly recommended that you at least upgrade the pistons and con rods. This is because there usually isn't enough meat between the face of the piston and the compression ring. Too much heat without the correct setup and you're talking about melting and bending internals. Nitrous looks great due to upfront cost of the kit and bottle, but if you're really interested in more horsies, I'd look towards something more reliable and natural. Just a thought. I know there are many people that shoot nitrous daily, that doesn't make it the best method out there to achieve hp.

-honestly, if this is your daily driver. I wouldn't think of using nitrous. There are other ways to get what you want and keep the reliability of your car more modest.

-just a thought-

U will need at least some cams and properIM or IBTs, better valvetrain and raised redline, meth injection to cool off for detonation and as u said, decent tuning.

bleh forgot about meth n cams. but with the ultimate you can raise the redline to like 7500.

no its to prevent detonation/pinging/knocking. Methanlol is a higher octane but has less "power" you need more of it to make the same hp. When you inject meth/water it dramatically reduces combution temps cleans the engine and allows more boost since it basically retards your timing without sacrificing power. I dont know where to buy one, i made my own.

ok...at a 100 shot for a v-8(all i know right now) its 1lb of N2O for 10secs....so 10 10sec sprays, or 6.666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666 sprays at 15 secs each...

so...double that for the 50 shot....

so roughly 13...just had to exagarate that a little... :D

I bolded the ones that'll do the power upping. The injectors don't really add power can support the 300 or whatever hp so I didn't bold them. Looking at these parts reminds me of a post in the ZPI forums. I don't remember who but if ZPI is what you know I'm sure you know of the post I'm talking about. He got, I think, like either 180 or 210 hp... But either way, it's not close to 300 whp. He also had a stage 1 head. Honestly, I'm not seeing much more than a speculative 230 whp. Even then, you'd need to spin your engine to about 8400 RPM to make 300 whp. At 8400 RPM, your mean piston speed will be about 28 m/s which is three m/s more than your average NASCAR engine and about five or so m/s more than your average F1 engine. Yikes.

well for my 75 shot it last me like 7-9 races 2-5 gear and all sprays from 3000 rpm to 6000rpm and in 5th gear from 3000 till i hit 125 then i let off the nitrous and it lasts you about 8 races straight if you dont purge it casue i have a purge kit and im trigger happy so i get alot less sometimes but it last for a while of fun.

But the things is that u need supportive mods to raise the redline, that's what I was refering to.
