Bought this car and trying to piece it back together cause someone doesn't know how to do things the right way.
Anyways, I was putting on my HPS CAI and saw this, it was attached at the throttle body to a metal nipple with a slight bend in it.

Toyota black box.

Really dont know what it does. Its hook the the throttle body. First thought was that it was a check valve for idling but its drive by wire.
and these was remove in the newer tCs (08, 09 etc..)

I don't think its needed for anything since it doesn't do anything. More like something they thought to add but never got around to it.

This box was present on the 06 intake, and the other side of it vented to atmosphere. On the 09 intake, the hose from the TB plugs directly into the intake manifold and the box was not present.

I'm guessing its a one way check valve with some kind of carbon filter since this could be emissions related junk.
