Default High mileage engine but want to go turbo?

anyone have any recommendations i see mostly people rebuild there engines went it comes too turbo and people leave there enigine with stock internals because they dont have as many miles. so i have like almost 90 thousand miles what would you guys think on helping the engine last longer with a turbo...more lower compression pistions and purchasing rods and building the head. what are your thoughts.

depends on what you want. if you want just a little more power on low boost i would just put a turbo kit on it. if you are looking to make a lot of power then you could rebuild it or just wait until you have to.

^^^ Hey you stole my avatar! LOL Gotta love Maggie!

I've been talking about boosting my auto with a billion miles on it already. Few said to get hold of a totalled and rip out the engine. Rebuilt it then keep the current in storage. But also, I know someone who wants me to change out the transmission as in 5 speed.

I really do have the "basketballs" to rebuilt current block & throw in the kit with other goodies. Keep it as auto LOL

Can't wait to pay it off next year! I'm so gonna have fun!!! :D:D

Do it my way.... I just bought a second block and head to work with! @ fold helps. One, new motor, new awesomeness. Two, you can swap it out with your old stock one IF any huge problems pop up. It also solves the mileage problem

05 tc with 86k miles, running on 14 psi making 308 whp. stock engine, first one. you should just get the engine tested, compression and leak down test to make sure it is in good health, and then see if you want to boost it.

i even autocross mine, has been n/a, supercharged and now turbo'ed.

yeah i'm boosted at 87k. the main thing is that you want to do a compression test. that will be a major check to see if it's still able to hold the power.
