Default Interested in NST pullies.. but a got a quick question..

I have an automatic tC.. so this question really goes out to the auto owners that have the NST pulley set on their cars..

I just want to know if you auto owners felt a difference? The "Pulley Owners Stand Up" thread got me tempted to buy it since it's something really worthy.

Would I be better getting the whole NST pulley set or only the Underdrive pulley? Isn't the underdrive pulley the one that gains hp/tq anyway?

thanks in advance

You can gain horsepower on a dyno by using lighter wheels and tires. If you want to accurately measure gain, go to the track.

Not needed, BUT recommended. Also, I think you can rent those tools almost anywhere, which is what I might do once I get them.

a pully puller is needed to take the crank pully off. the impact gun might be needed to put it back on, but a nice torque wrench is better.

NST pulleys will help with autos and manual cars.

The idea behind why pulleys work is simple. Weight reduction and underdriving both lead to more power being sent to the wheels instead of being wasted on moving heavy components or parasitic accessories.

These pulleys do not make extra power because they do not change the combustion cycle of the engine, but they do release some hidden power. Who can usually run faster? A 400lb 6 foot tall man, or a 160lb 6 foot tall man? Lose weight, pick up acceleration.

The more NST pulleys you use, the more weight reduction you will have. Not to mention the underdriving and overdriving benefits you will pick up as well.

yea the NST pulleys are all properly blueprinted and designed to significantly decrease a lot of your parasitic loss. I would have went with the underdrive pulley set, but I am supercharged so it would actually rob power from me, but I am rocking the NST supercharger 9.5 psi pulley and the CR lite special order lightweight crank pulley. I was defintely amazed the way the car picked up a lot quicker with the crank pulley, it almost felt like I picked up another psi of boost. Cant go wrong when ordering a pulley from Mike at NST...they have some of the gretest custmer service I have ever seen in my life. It sounds like I work for them or are sponsored by them by all my posts, but I can assure you that Im not. They just really make a great product for our cars and thats the truth

Has anyone had any problems with the supercharger after installing the NST 9.5lbs Supercharger pulley? I've heard numerous problems with the ZPI Supercharger pulley.

they shouldnt, unless they can be proven to be the direct result of any failure

^^
that would be incorrect. your trd warranty specifically states that changing pulleys or removing the tamper proof cap to get to said pulley would nullify your warranty.
