right now i'm running no muffler as a determination of loudness (and just the curiosity of it as well) but it looks right now that this new, louder exhaust will we prototyped on my car.... i have heard about someone else with headers with a similar setup with the exact muffler and have rasp issues, but i don't know the details.

if you do plan on getting headers in the future, then i would suggest getting his current axleback so you can be quieter as well as not to deal with rasp.... but if not (kinda like me), then i'm gonna see how this exhaust is gonna sound. it might be as loud as the hks though, i'm thinking... either way it'll have a good sound; that is what i'm expecting... running no muffler is pretty ok, too... the only thing is it's a little loud.

hey any updates from Gabe on this one "SquallLHeart"?

ok i thought my exhaust only needed to be broken in but its starting to get anoying, my exhaust has a rasp at 3k - 4k and up .. and its worse when its at a cold start. i still haven't tried to realign my exhuast but it basically looks like its hanging down.. will the realignment fix the exhaust rasp i dunno if its internally in the exhaust of its the larger tip i got from u guys.. i will try to realign it tonight.. but am i the only one getting this rasp.. it sounds like a can pls i hope it can be fixed, i currently have the megan racing header and injen cai. i'll try to get a sound clip later.. if its normal i guess i'll just deal with it.. but it sounds nice before the rasp.

everyone is talking about stainless steel headers... what about ceramic coated ones? does the old technology of the 1960's and 70's idea no longer apply? cool exhaust moves faster.. less seapage thought the exhaust pipe more hp... and im sure they will make some noise...

So what's the deal with this pm axle back exhaust? I heard the sound in the video clip from one of the earlier posts on this forum and the low grumble is exactly what Im looking for. However there seem to be mixed reviews on how it sounds. If you all could help me with this Id appreciate it. Basically what Im asking is for people on this forum who ACTUALLY have the exhaust to help me rate it, Do they like the sound and does it actually put out the low grumble they believed they would get with the pm axle back or is it just like any other a/m exhaust sound youd find on some home boys civic? Raspy and what not. Some people seem to be saying no and some say yes so Im curious because Id like to order this exhaust sometime this week if it sounds like I think it sounds. Question number 2 is Ill be putting this pm axle back exhaust on my literally new this weekend 06 tc bone stock. Without having any a/m headers or an intake does anyone know what kind of sound I'll have? I'm hoping the exhaust will still give me that low rumble even though my cars stock? Any ideas? Please let me know if you can.

I've had mine for about 2 weeks now and it was exactly what I was looking for. Probably the best feature about the PM Exhaust is that you get the low grumble with little to no rasp without the hear-me-coming-down-the-block loudness. My tC seems to purr now. If you are looking for something remotely louder (like HKS, Injen, etc.), then this isn't your exhaust. The PM Exhaust is more quiet than the TRD Exhaust. I too was skeptical about this exhaust. But for the $$$, I'm glad that I did get it! (Its about $100 cheaper than the TRD Exhaust.) BTW-I don't have an Intake or Header (yet? ) on my tC either. I say "go for it". If worse came to worse, you could always sell it on eBay if you don't like it. I'm sure somebody would ****** it up quickly for you.

i like it at low rpms and that is pretty quite and nice when needed.. but i really hate the rasp i hear.. i thought it just needs to be broken in or something but i've had it for about a month now or 3 weeks i guess and the rasp is anoying.. i thought it wasn't gonna have a rasp from what people have said.. another thing that anoyed me was the fitment i had to change the hanger position on the rubber mount to align properly or actually as best as i could. it looks a lot better now but still tilts down..

i guess if i didn't have a header it wouldn't have the rasp but now i feel like i could of went with another pm and still have had the rasp... i will post up a sound clip of it.. or hope and pray the rasp will go away... i tend to not floor it anymore because the noise just reminds me of a civic

unless theres a fix i don't want to have to get new piping and resonator just to get rid of the rasp. i might just go back to stock

So how do I care for the exhaust tip? Is there some kind of polish anyone recommends I take to it to keep it shiny? All this Washington rain is kinda making it look like poop.

Kind of a general question, but will this exhaust prove to be a problem in the future warranty-wise? I don't want it to mess up my system and have my dealer totally ignore me knowing that I voided my warranty.

The tip is stainless steel so some windex and a soft rag will take care of it. Its all you should ever need.

I have edited my post since Precision Muffler is working with me to take care of my issues and are sending me a New Muffler, they will now take more time on each Muffler to make sure there are fully operation and welds are properly made.

Any leak after the muffler really wont have much of an effect on the sound and I can pretty much guarantee that the "leaks" you have at your exhaust tip are not causing rasp. Your header is the culprit and the only way you will be able to reduce the rasp is by replacing the stock resonator with a larger one. I had the PM system on my car for about 3 days with the stock resonator and AW header but had to take it off because it was too raspy for me. I havent reinstalled it yet to see how it sounds but I did try a TRD axleback a couple of weeks ago and it wasnt raspy at all.

ohh wow i thought i was the only one that encountered the rasp with a header with the pm.. if i had known i don't think i would of gotten a exhaust right away.. I thought that it has been proven that the exhaust doesn't have a rasp with a header.. if that leak isn't a cause to the rasp maybe i should examine the welds right ast the exhaust it self... i guess i'm gonna have to waste time and take it all off and take it to a shop to get reweleded.. or even get them to realign my exhaust tip to be more strait then slanted downward. i'll try to get a pic of what i mean... and if it isn't the welds then i'm gonna have to get new piping and a new resonator since i don't want to mess with my stock piping, in case i ever decide to go stock.

You will probably end up spending more money on getting the welds redone than just having a larger resonator installed which has been proven to fix the problem. Even if there were some leaks in the welds they would not likely cause any sort of added raspiness. For anything to be noticeable there would have to be large gaps that would be showing black soot from the exhaust passing through. If you dont see any of that than you dont have any significant leaks to worry about.
