Alright. Well expect me to PM you or catch you AIM sometime this week, WDS. Because I know for a fact that I'll probably need someone to hold my hand for something this simple. Darn noobness. =P

I'm gonna wake up a little early tomorrow so I can put this sucker in. Is there a gasket from where I disconnect the stock exhaust? If so, should I use that on the PM setup?

There should be a white gasket that you reuse.

All the WD-40 in the world couldn't get those bolts off for me.

...plus I don't really trust my dad's old jack stands. I might just call around town and get some quotes for borrowing a lift or something. Ain't no way this'll happen in my garage.

well i got the exhaust on friday and installed it that night

well it was packaged well and it had the new oval tip i requested.. well the installation wasn't that hard.. but the issue was the bracket mounting i tried my best to get it under or mount it properly.. but i didn't kno if i needed to take out the mount for the rear crossmember or not.. so that i could put the mounting bracket on properly.

here are my pics warning its alot..

stock exhaust tip

Comparision between stock

mounted new exhaust

this bracket, i couldn't mount it properly i'm unsure if i can just unbolt the bolts for the rear driverside crossmember mounting bolts so i can remove the cover and put on the bracket properly.. but still i don't kno if mounting it properly would fix how missaligned the exhaust and the tip looks.

Well when i drove it.. i kinda was dissapointed i thought it would sound deeaper and i noticed there was a slight rasp well it was sorta high pitched when i would floor it and would it hit a certain rpm, i've driven it for around 500+ miles now and doesn't sound that bad as it did in the begining but hopefully it will go away fully.

pls help with the bracket and hopefully by mounting the bracket properly it will fix how the tip is angled wierd.. also it points downward for some reason as well.

Yep, you need to take that off and put the bracket underneath.... I believe it's just three bolts holding it on, then you can pull the side down enough to get the bracket on the bolt and adjust it for fitment...

I put that bracket on and tight... then left the two nuts on the u-bolt loose and moved them on the pipe, to get the tip and muffler to line up right... it also helps to leave the two bolts holding the axleback to the straightpipe loose for adjustment as well... (That will allow you to rotate the tip up a bit) and use the u bolt and bracket to move it over a bit and tighten it down...

That's what I did.

It should look like this

Yeah, there is one huge nut there.... I didn't take them all the way off to my recolection.... just enough on all three to pull it down and put the bracket on... but I don't believe it holds anything in place (Don't take my word for it)

No problem for the help.

how tight should the bolts where the pipe bolts onto the stock piping? i don't kno the torque specs and i'm just worried about over torquing or not enough and its letting air through the gasket.

I just got it pretty dang tight... I figured it's just pipe, so it can't be too particular.

the welds on that exhaust are horrible. not to mention it has crush bent piping. but i guess you get quality when you pay for it. and i doubt your "butt" dyno is reliable. spoken form a true tuner

Well, you can speak your opinion.... but flow at that point in the exhaust path would be effected at most by .5 HP due to crush bent piping... and the welds on mine are pretty great IMHO... given you never see them anyways.

Also, given that no other current exhaust on the market can kill the rasp problem as effectively as this one... for the price... it's a great setup....

From a true tuner..... you have 1 post.

IDK man, the Draxas sounds amazing with a header... Pricey though...
Its just the PM Axleback is value for purpose. If that makes sense...

Given it costs 750 dollars... I'll pass.... I'd have to see what one sounds like on a car.... I'd bet they'd be pretty close... and three for one almost...

my friend has the full Draxas setup. i can honestly tell you he's not gonna beat a guy at the 1/4 mi. compared to someone with just an axleback. as well as sound? ehhh.... ok.

you guys don't really understand that there's a single guy that hand-makes these exhausts... no muffler shop out there is as generous to offer such service... and not one can do any mandrel bends (which explain those "crush" bends in the PM axleback)... really... if you're that **** about it... then i have no objection for you to spend more of your money on something else.

Although I can believe a local muffler shop can achieve the same results for less... but it sounds really good.
