Shift noise...
Hey all, after searching to no avail. I have no luck in finding anything on this. I have a 2010 5 speed with about 31k on it now. I have this weird noise while shifting. It's a loud distinct tick/click at the friction point when shifting under moderate to heavy acceleration, after the vehicle is warm. Basically the higher the revs and the quicker I come off the clutch the louder it is. It's more prominent when shifting between 2-3 and 3-4. It's been going on for quite some time and it seems to be getting worse. The transmission and clutch still feel ok, as I don't notice any issues other than a squeaky clutch pedal outside of the noise. Toyota has heard it upon a test drive with the tech, but they "can't seem" to trace where it's coming from and advised me to keep driving until it gets more "consistent". Has anyone else had anything close to this issue? Any help/ideas is appreciated, thanks.
hmmm if what you're describing is a "tick / click" noise... do you feel it as you put it into gear? Cuz I'll not only hear it.... FEEL it too when going from gear 4 to 5... and only when the car has warmed up. but sometimes if i don't rev it up high enough say i go from gear 4 to 5 at 60-65mph, it'll shift smooth.
Do you use a short shifter? I use a doc iso 2" drop short.

i would start with some of the basics,
try changing your transmission oil to like a redline oil or maybe royal purple which are both a high grade transmission oil
as for the squeaky clutch pedal try oiling the shaft inside the slave cylinder which you can get to by pulling off the black square rubber boot on the slave cylinder
