I've racked up 85K miles on my tC from commuting to/from work. I am now considering something to make it go alittle faster but worry that the internal will not hold up because of the miles. My options 1) to beef up the internal and go turbo which would probably cost about $10K and there's no gaurantee that the engine will hold up for a long time. 2) 3SGTE JDM swap. The engine is just about $2K + installation and other mis items which I estimate in the $7K range.

What do you think? Is this doable?

no one has done it yet. You're better off just rebuilding the motor and turbocharging. How can you say there is no guarantee it will hold up? I think there is a better chance of the tC engine holding up, then a custom fabricated engine swpa holding up.

 

You know what? Do it. Do it for the next guy who asks the same question.

 

If you have to ask if it's doable, then you don't have the means to pull it off.

You can put a 2JZ into a tC with enough funding.
