Hey crush. Would you recommend this to be done by a prefessional tunning shop or can anyone do it? I'm pretty good with computers and all but not familiar at all with tunning.

ok i posted up some steps to set up your fic but i do suggest that you start with a good base map if you are going to do your own tuning.....other wise have a pro tune you. always start in small increments....it will be frustrating at first cause you really dont see the changes when you start small.

i know its pricey but pnp harness imho is the way to go...

1.its hella easy to install
2.if your having problems and need to disconnect to trouble shoot its easy to unplug
3.i tried to use the bypass harness that came with the fic but it didnt work.

now thats a hella idea......you can maybe try boomslang.....give them a call and see if they will part with the connectors for cheap. Try paul @dezod maybe he could direct you to someone. Good luck

i think there is a slight misconception that the ecu will over write whatever youve done....so far the only time iv seen the computer over ride my changes that iv made is when i used a bs tune that threw the car in limp mode . i think what people really mean to say is that with excessive fuel trims the computer will try its hardest to compensate for it......but if you take away the primary o2 sensor signal and adjust it so that the computer thinks everything is kosher your golden. its not exactly like what ever tune you put on the car the ecu will eventually over ride it, its the fact that not enough attention was payed to the 02 signal. does that make sense?

ok gotcha and there's no extra harnesses or sensors needed to do that? Just a good quality tune?

no nothing is needed to keep the tune but i do suggest some other things to consider.

last i heard the auto tranny has a problem with the fic keeping the tb powerd up even after you shut the key off......i cant speak from experiance but thats what iv heard.......but i think what you will need to do if you have an auto is to hook up the fic and check what wire has voltage being sent to the tb....take that wire and either splice in a switch or a relay.

now this i do know you need to splice in 2 resisters into the wireing harness of the fic.......if you dont do this you may get a cam/crank sensor malfunction cel.
one resister will join cam mag- to cam mag+...the other will join crank mag- and crank mag+
the resisters are 1/2 watt 2.2kohm.

you can find the resisters at radio shack, fry's electronics, ect.
