I have software 3.04 with the 104 file but wen I did the firstflash I later saw in fic folder that 110 107 104 and 131 so I took all out leaving only 104 and I believe x 300 then I tried to connect to fic and it threw an error saying firmware 131 was missing so I popped it back in the folder. I was able to chek slave version it was the correct 1 ver 104... Is this 131 file needed in fic folder ? Also I'm scared my map may have been deleted

did you "file delete" it? i never took out any files from the fic folder but i wouldnt think that would matter but maybe it does...lol
have you actually flashed the fic with x300.hex? its the same process as the slave flash. Did you download z104.hex from the aem forums or did you find it in your programe files? Try downloading the slave flash (z104.hex) again from the aem forums but first move the first one to desk top or something. then reflash the slave chip again. while your at it try reflashing the main chip with x300.hex.
btw the other hex files ie 110,107,ect are hex files used for other cars.
i really dont know what 131 is or does....i assume its for the slave chip for another car but idk.
try this simple stuff out first, i hope it works out for you.

alright i think i figured out the problem, first off i did an experiment and took everything out of my fic folder and placed it on my desk top, took my short cut and placed it in my fic folder, i double clicked on the short cut to open up the program and everything went normal, so i tried to swap maps on my fic and everything went as normal. so it doesnt mater whats in the folder.
i need to talk to TheFantasticG to confirm but i think that error msg about 131 he got was because he was trying to open up his fic on his computer. his computer had software version 3.04 but his fic had been tuned using an older version. so his fic didnt have the main chip flashed with x300.hex which should allow the computer to connect and download his map from the fic to his computer. What he did instead was find an old software version and downloaded it to his laptop. this automatically allowed him to view his map on his pc. The main reason he did this was cause it was apparent that his tuner is using an older software version to tune with so instead of upgrading he left it to an older version so his tuner wouldnt have trouble tuning him later on.

Yeah I figured that, where can I find an old software version ? Also should I update the slave chip to z104 still? And the x300 main chip update should be left alone right? Because that comes with the 3.04 software update no?

when you downloaded 3.04 x300.hex came with it, so its already in your folder. in theory if you flash your main chip with x300.hex you should be able to connect your fic with your computer and use all the functions that 3.04 provides. then you may be able to download your map onto your computer. as far as the older versions of the fic software i think that Garret (TheFantasticG) had to call aem tech support and get one of them to email him an old version. its ok to have your fic flashed with z104.hex and use an older software version but if you flash your fic with x300.hex you will not be able to run any older software versions just 3.0 or 3.04 will work. the main chip deals with programing, the slave deals with fuel and maybe timing.
so on one hand you can upgrade to 3.04 and flash your main chip with x300.hex but your tuner will have problems trying to connect his computer to your fic.
on the other hand you can download an older software and your tuner will not have a problem connecting and youll be able to view and make changes to your map but you give up being able to hook up your wideband to your fic and datalog.
iv seen an older version 2.01 (i think its what garret has) and imho 3.04 or 3.0 is easier to deal with.
either way do what you gata do mang.
